Good day, this is Toonation.
We sincerely want to thank you for your support for the karaoke donations.
Currently, there are a lot of questions about karaoke donations, so we would like to answer them.
Q. Is there a copyright issue with Kumyoung Karaoke when singing a Toonation Karaoke during live streaming?
A. The use of karaoke during live streaming has no copyright issue with Kumyoung Karaoke.
Toonation Karaoke donation is a service provided by the karaoke for streamer service from Backs, Inc. using Toonation’s API provided by Toothlife Co., Ltd.
Backs, Inc. was granted a license through a contract for all secondary works produced by Keumyoung Entertainment Co., Ltd. with legitimate reproduction rights under a contract for the use of music works by the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
It is illegal to broadcast Keumyoung Karaoke on the internet without using Toonation Karaoke services.
Q. I heard you can upload it on YouTue. Please tell me more in detail.
A. If you upload the karaoke donation clips on YouTube, part of the advertising fee will be paid according to the YouTube policy. This is the information we have received from the authorities of the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
Q. It’s really inconvenient to buy karaoke coupons separately. Also, do you only have 2 coupon packages available?
A. The reason for purchasing karaoke coupons separately is to pay extra for the karaoke songs separately apart from the broadcast. We are sorry for any inconvenience you may have experienced.
The following update will add features that will allow you to use multiple coupons at once. We are corrently also discussing with various payment gateway providers to diversify our payment methods, so please look forward to it!
Q. Is it okay to leave Twitch replays and clips using Toonation karaoke donations?
A. Currently, Baeks, Inc. is discussing the matter with the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA).
After the completion of the consultation, the Korea Music Copyright Association (KOMCA) will pay all the replay related copyright fees that the streamers owe so far through the donations of Toonation Karaoke.
We will continue to think of and improve what’s best for our streamers in the future.
Thank you.
